UNUSUAL PRESENTATION -On June 28, 1971, our Lodge was pleased to have distinguished guests from H.M.S. Ark Royal, the ship being docked at the time at Port Everglades.  As the meeting of the evening appeared to be drawing to a close, Brother Michael James Boyle, of St. John & St. Paul Lodge No. 349, of Valetta, Malta, announced that he had a presentation to make. On instruction of W. Bro. N. B. Parker, Past Master of St. Johns Lodge No.454, He, Brother Boyle was to present his, W. Bro. Parker's Past Master Jewel to the first Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons that Bro. Boyle visited on that trip, outside the Grand Jurisdiction of England, as a memento of friendship.  This expression of friendship supports our belief of Universality of Free Masonry and was accepted for the Lodge by W. Bro. Tiburzi, the Master of the Lodge that year.  That Past Master Jewel is on display in our trophy) case in the social hall. (article lifted from October '77 Lodge Bulletin)

During W. Bro. Guy Harnish's year as Master, our Lodge Room was carpeted. No other single improvement to the building has caused a greater transformation.

Modesty prevents Bro. W. Bro. Jim Zalanka found it necessary to serve a portion of W. Bro. M111er's term due to necessary absence, and endeavored to fulf111 Bro M111er's goal of complete1ng the kitchen addit1on. During the latter part of 173 and all of '74, a successful effort to unify the Order of Eastern Star, Assembly of Rainbow for G1r1s, and Sem1nole Masonic Lodge into a Masonic Family prof11e, was promoted.

Complete1ng kitchen, regular building maintenance, and air-conditioned breakdowns caused indebtedness from which we, and Appendant Bodies, were a year or more recovering.

A threat of losing our non-profit, charitable organization status was imminent during this period.

W. Bro. Zalanka expressed gratitude to Officers and Members for their cooperation and particularly to Bro. Jerry Hill for a job well done, as Lodge secretary.

1975
